Ready For Fall

My friends and I have been doing these things called “clothing swaps” for awhile now.  They’re great!  You get all your friends together and everyone brings clothes that they want to get rid of.  Then, you lay out all the stuff and everyone takes what they want from the piles of clothes, shoes, and accessories.  It’s amazing how one man’s trash is another man’s treasure (so cliche but so true).  I always come away from them with a shit load of new clothes and I didn’t have to pay a dime.  Plus, whatever doesn’t get scooped up, gets donated to a women’s shelter so it’s a win win.

Sweater: Random Store In Santa Fe (I’ll try and figure out what it’s called)

Wraps and Flares

I went home to New Mexico a few weeks ago.  Fall is one of the best time of times a year to go because the weather is cool, people are roasting chile on the side of the road and leaves are changing.  I always go to Santa Fe to get my shopping on.  The plaza is a great place to buy turquoise and silver at a good price.  There is one store off San Francisco street that I always go to get wraps.  Of course like an asshole, I don’t remember the name of it, but I will try and find it.

Wraps are perfect of fall and living in Southern California, year round.  They are cozy but not quite as heavy as a jacket.  Oh, and they are the BEST on airplanes because they double as a blanket.  This one perfectly represents the southwest with the patterns.  I also love the colors.  And lastly, its 100% acrylic!  No wool and no animals harmed in the making of it and costs a whooping $35.  What a steal.  I will find out the name of the store for you guys…

Favorite current trend: Off the shoulder tops

It’s been 90 degrees here in LA for the last week, which is INSANE but to be completely honest, totally normal.  Our summer has basically become August through October.  So while the rest of the country is breaking out sweaters and having pumpkin spiced lattes, Angelenos are trying to wear as little as possible to stay cool.

As we all know, not every trend works for every person.  Just because the fashion industry touts something as “the next best thing”  doesn’t mean you have to get on board.  That’s one thing I love about fashion, you wear what works for you.  I still don’t think I have a specific style.  Sometimes I like more of a rocker vibe and sometimes I want to be more girly.  And that’s totally ok.  I’ve also had to make some adjustments over the last few years switching to a vegan lifestyle.  There are plenty of things that I won’t buy just based on the fact that they have animal products in them.

All that being said, I am completely loving this off the shoulder trend.  I love the upper part of a woman’s body.   The shoulders, the neck, the clavicle…I think it’s so sexy.  So shirts that show them off are a straight up HELL YES for me!

PS:  You’re all lovely and amazing.  Thanks for reading this blog.  Be sure to follow me on FACEBOOKINSTAGRAM and BLOGLOVIN

The World’s Greatest Overalls

Okay, maybe they’re not the greatest overalls ever but they are pretty damn awesome.  While I love a good super comfy laid back overall, I also love a good fitted pair which is why I’m obsessed with these.  I got them a few weeks ago at Madewell.

I was also super excited that they didn’t have a leather label on the back.  As a vegan, you constantly have to look for anything that might have animal products in it/on it and I’ve realized that a lot of the more expensive jeans have leather labels on the back.  When I first went vegan I had to get rid of a lot of my jeans for that reason.

These are so perfect as we head into fall (if it ever actually comes to LA).  I will be wearing these A LOT!!!
