Truth be told, I’m not really a person that fusses over my hair. I just use a few things but they are products I really love! I made a youtube video talking about them. Check it out!
One of the nice things about being a vegan blogger is discovering new companies. There are so many amazing companies out there who are not only making great products but also helping the environment and animals in the process. I find most of them via instagram, but every once in awhile one will reach out. I recently had someone from Deux Lux send me an email and I immediately fell in love with their bags. They asked I would like one and DUH of course I did 🙂
As some of you may or may not know, this year my goal is to only support companies that align with my vegan lifestyle, buy less stuff in general, thrift a lot more and to stop buying any fast fashion (the stuff I already own I will continue to wear until it falls apart but won’t be purchasing anything new from said stores). With wanting to consume less, when brands reach out I really have to ask myself “Is this something I will actually use or wear?” If the answer is no, then I politely decline the offer.
One of the many things I love about Deux Lux is that it’s not only vegan + cruelty free, PETA approved, but it’s also “proudly woman owned” company. Their story via the Deux Lux website
“Inspired by art, architecture, movies, vintage jewelry, the runways, and (our favorite muse) color, Deux Lux strives to bring grace and whimsy to every collection in a way that is accessible to all women.
Deux Lux bags are always designed with the word “happy” in mind and their universal appeal is the reason they can be found the arms of women from Tulsa to Tokyo.
Deux Lux is carried in boutiques and stores across the country and internationally, and has been featured in blogs, television shows and magazines from Oprah to Lucky to InStyle. Stay tuned…”
I’ve been looking for a vegan leather jacket for awhile but hadn’t been able to find the right one. I’d known about Blank NYC but had never really perused their catalog. Guys!!!! They have such amazing stuff and it’s all their “leather” is vegan! Hooray. And aside from those, they have a ton of other great clothes.
I love supporting companies who share the same vision as me. I get stopped so often in Los Angeles by people who ask about my bags, or my shoes, or clothes and more than half the time they are shocked when the find out their vegan. I feel like if I can help one person to stop supporting the harming of animals, then I’m doing my job (though I’d like to reach a shit load of people).
I never preach at people, I find that has an adverse effect on them. I just share when people ask, and educate people at how easy it is to be vegan. My mom just came to visit for a week and she at vegan the whole time and was blown away at the food she was eating. So much so that she, the woman who swore she would never give up half and half, ordered Nutpods off amazon to have when she went back to New Mexico because she loved it so much. So that is one small victory. Starting at 69 is never too late.
